First 40 minutes: Introduction and Lifestyle

1) Why we are here:
-We are here to try to learn from you, how you interact with consumer products in your everyday life?

2) Can you tell me about your family?
-Who, how many, where do they live, what are some favorite activities, etc
-Build up comfort and trust

3) So what is a typical day like for you?
-Keep an ear open for an opportunity to ask them to show you what they taking about, preferably in the kitchen
**Ask what they do with the product when they are finished, recycling, do they know where it goes (product life cycle)?
**Ask about where they buy it and why
**Who all uses it (who are they buying for)

Last 20 minutes: Product Association and Direct Questioning

Ask them to group the products in a spectrum
1=least likely to buy
5=most likely to buy
Record results and ask them about their reasoning for the choices

Ask them to group the products again with
1=least sustainable or green
5=most sustainable or green
Record results and ask them about their reasoning for the choices

What do you think it means when a product claims to be eco-friendly or “green”? How is it different from other products?

What are some eco-friend behaviors that people can do?
-Are you doing any of these things? Why or why not?

-If they aren’t doing certain things, what would make them want to?
