Legibility Capital vs Lowercase
Template:LinksTo
Lowercase letters are generally more legible than all capital letters. Shape recognition aid in legibility. Words that are in all capitals have no distinctive shape while lower case letters have distinctive ascenders and descenders. The more features we can see, the easier and faster we can read. Setting words in capitals and lower case give each word distinct features as well.
Outlines are drawn around words in the figures to illustrate the uniform shape of all capital letters and the distinctive shapes of lowercase letters.
